Hi, my name is AlbertoPerdomo.

I'm a software developer and I create extraordinary web applications.

Professional profile

I have been coding since 1996 and writing software professionally since 2003. In 2006 I started developing web applications with Ruby on Rails and it still is my framework of choice. Other things I have done in the past include design of electronics and developing desktop applications and software for embedded devices.

I lived almost 8 years in Germany where I also studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies and 1 year in Ireland where I worked at Media Lab Europe, the European Research Partner of MIT Media Lab, until it's closure in 2005. Currently I live in my hometown Las Palmas, in the Canary Islands, Spain.

In 2007 I co-founded AENTOS, a software development company. We develop web applications and apps for mobile devices.

In 2009 I founded the local Ruby / Ruby on Rails user group in Las Palmas: Las Palmas on Rails. You can visit the group site on Google Groups and on Facebook.

I'm interested in agile software development, testing, real-time communication, web services and SaaS (software as a service). I strongly support open standards and open source software.

Blogging & presentations

I blog from time to time on our company blog & on my tumblelog. You can find my presentation files for talks, conferences and courses at Slideshare.

These days I work mostly with Ruby and Ruby on Rails. You can find some code written by me on github here and here.

I teach courses on web development with Ruby on Rails and test driven development.

I'm available for contracting through my company AENTOS.
